Welcome to “IS,” or, “Intervention Specialists.” Today, more than ever, people, regular, REAL people are becoming more and more afflicted with addictions! It may be your dentist, your daughter, your pastor, your friend, or YOU! Addiction does not discriminate! EVER!

No one ever PLANS on becoming an “addict.” It doesn’t work that way. One may be curious about a drug or activity. One may be depressed or sad. One may be of the belief that their life is “just fine! What’s wrong with a 12 pack of beer a night?!” Every addict has an underlying reason for WHY they started using substances, sex, gambling, hording, over-eating or even the internet for their personal pleasure, but never planned on NEEDING TO HAVE whatever their addiction IS to survive! They suffer silently and with much resistance to loved ones’ attempts to “make them stop!”

The “addict” will eventually begin to self-isolate, miss important events, perhaps have legal troubles, need more money than usual, act “strangely,” lie and make up stories in order to “cover-up” their self-destructive behaviors. Addicts’ family members, friends and loved ones may begin to help or “enable” them to continue on this path of destruction. It may be guilt, denial, or the feeling that “if I just do this, THEN things will get better” with their loved one. Soon, one attempt turns to another…then another…then another “lie,” then another “attempt,” an so on…..Eventually, the family is angry, broke, and emotionally-drained. The addict continues to “use” whatever it is they use. Help seems impossible to find!

I.S. or “Intervention Specialists” IS THE ANSWER to your need! Perhaps you’ve seen the television show “Intervention” on A&E. The show follows the addict in their turmoil, and also shows how the family is affected and also integrated into the “intervention.” The goal, at the end of the show, is to get the addict to treatment with the help of trained professionals who understand the addict’s position and resistance to treatment, the family’s frustration, and the best plan or “intervention” to help the family and addict become united again!

Our program begins with meeting and getting to personally know the addict’s family and/or loved ones, educating them on the addict’s disease, processing what harm and turmoil has come to them because of their addict’s behaviors, then developing a plan of action or INTERVENTION. An Intervention will ultimately mean the addict is told that a “place for help” has been arranged by the Intervention Team (I.S. Staff and Family/Loved Ones) which they are free to “accept” or accept the consequences. Consequences can mean no more money, no more food or housing, no more childcare, etc.

I.S. will determine the best choice of residential, long-term care prior to the Intervention with the help of the family and assessment of their resources (i.e., insurance, ability to pay, etc.).

Do not suffer alone! I.S. has seen MANY POSITIVE RESULTS and brought families back together when all other methods have left people disappointed, more angry and discouraged!
